Bullet Journal Monthly Spread Ideas

A monthly spread gives you a place to see the dates and plans ahead.

Your layout might include a calendar, task list, tracker, or optional cover page.

These examples show different ways to arrange those pieces.

Bullet Journal Monthly Cover Page

A cover page can mark the start of a month if you enjoy making one.

It also gives you a visible divider when leafing through the notebook.

Here's the cover I made for August 2019:

Bullet Journal Monthly Calendar

A bullet journal monthly spread layout.
This monthly spread is from my 2nd bullet journal in 2018. I was trying to keep it very minimalist!

For the calendar itself, consider how much you need to write beside each date.

A grid uses seven columns, one for each day of the week.

The boxes may be small in a compact notebook, so longer entries can be harder to fit.

A dated list is an alternative.

Write the dates down the page, using the number of days in that month.

Each row then gives you more width for an appointment or note.

A grid makes the arrangement of weeks and weekends easier to see.

I like that weekly view when planning work and time off.

Monthly Goals

If you want a monthly goals list, put it where you can review it alongside the dates.

Here are some monthly layouts to compare.

This example uses one page for an illustration and the month's title.

You could also leave that space open and add drawings during the month.
